The backlog for pixlr is quite long and just some of the items are on the wall to be done soon. It's always hard to prioritize what's the next thing to put your hours into.
If you had your wish what would you like to be the next thing released?
Cheers
Ola

Simple:
1. The *basic* tools that appears on the tools icons in photoshop cs3/cs4.
2. Layers operations - transform, like rotate etc..
It would be sweet if it was possible to change the canvas size also in the pixlr express version + add the multi language support as well
1. Same as Hetz
2. A non binary format (ie zipped XML+JPEG in the zipped file; see other post)
3. More adjustements
4. More filters
5. A more complex API (JavaScript to Flash communication) to perform actions directly in PIXLR (maybe with PIXLR hidden)
6. The ability to script inside PIXLR (macros)
7. Changing color mode (RVB, grayscale, bw)
8. Save as GIF (maybe animated, layers used as frames)
9. ...
9. More functional clipboard (paste from host OS clipboard)
10. More (functions in) context menus
11. More keyboard shortcuts
12. Mimic PhotoShop toolbars, menus and shortcuts
13. ...
13. Rename Layer
14. Drag layer in the Layers panel to move it up or down
15. ...
1. pixlr should preserve EXIF data.
2. An option to choose a fixed aspect ratio or a fixed size for the marquee tool.
Maybe I missed it completely and I'm blind, but being able to name the layers would be useful. As well as left/center/right align the text.
By the way, awesome work bringing this and making it useable for the public. :D
As a next step I would see little corrections, e.g.:
- alter width of the pull-down menues to prevent the text to flow over the right border (i.e. German language)
- make the pencil tool from the tools bar translatable
1., 2., 3. possibility to interact with the OS clipboard ;-)
1. The ability to make GIFs would be awesome
Paste from OS clipboard would be great to modify screen capture done with the print-screen key on Windows.
Site homepage tweaks:
- Remove color rollover on language flags and twitter link (ugly)
- Add flags for Photo Express (or create a home for Photo Express)
1. Have soft light as one of the layer's settings, eg screen, hardlight, etc.
1. Possibility to import or place images into an open image
2. Move an image forth and back in the image canvas without it being cropped.
Hi,
im into game modding and would like to use pixlr for my new modding tool.
But its missing completely paletted images and conversions truecolor -> palette. This will be usefull for Websites too for .gif which is also not supported yet. Would be really cool to add this ;-)
Greetings
Seltsamuel
I would like instructions. Getting the help information filled in would be REALLY useful!
@RockMe, yes the help is a priority right now (actually typing now). It will emerge in the coming weeks.
Well, next... um... I'd love to be able to save online (ImageShack, PhotoBucket and the likes) instead of going the detour via my harddrive... since I quickly edit images taken from the net for the net.
- Unsharp Mask would be easy to implement and very useful.
- Layer Masks would be awesome :)
I don't know if its been discussed before but, pressure sensitivity with use of a tablet would be nice. Control over size, opacity, etc. Other than that, it's pretty amazing what you have here so far. Very impressive.
1. Support .psd files, loading first and saving as a secondary objective.
@david, pixlr editor and pixlr express opens psd files. Since psd is a huge format we don't support all of the different aspects yet.
Support RAW. This software is great for the travelling photographer who doesn't have access to his/laptop.
Being able to process RAW would make this a MUST HAVE. Please!
@dgtart - Doesn't work for me, it allows me to see .psd files from the directory listing but when you try to open them into pixlr editor they don't appear. Nothing happens.
It opens with express but then you can't edit layers in express.
Oh thats another thing, sort out the documentation!
1.) Rulers & Guidelines (!)
2.) Dialog for sharpening (or even preferred: unsharp mask)
3.) more sophisticated tool for text (kerning etc.)
4.) Filters for correcting chromatic aberration & lens distortion
If the above were done, I´d switch over from Photoshop - and would be paying für it very willingly :)
I wouldn't mind seeing the paths tool =D
Strongly agree with Ulf about being able to move an image around the canvas without it being cropped!
Be able to reorder the layers!
Those first two requests are really, really high on my list of most wanted. The below would be nice of course though. :)
Agree with Markus about the EXIF data and an option for marquee selection sizes, ideally by allowing the user to set width and height or by entering an aspect ratio.
Rulers (across top and left sides of image palette) with different options for unit (pixels, inches). At least the lack of rulers can be worked around by paying close attention to the navigator palette.
Additional short cuts, especially for items in the Layer and Adjustment menus, would be nice too although I did see your blog post that some are simply not available as they are blocked by the browser so maybe that is not possible.
Agree with Andre, layer masks would be awesome.
Being to export GIFs would be cool too but it seems like years ago I read something about that format and licensing issues? (Oh yes, now I see. Google tells me:) A patent dispute issue with the compression technique. The patent has since expired, however. The ability to create simple animations would be nice.
RAW support would be AMAZING but from what I've read about it, there are dozens upon dozens of versions of it and that it can vary from camera to camera even if they are from the same company. Some companies encrypt parts of the info too? So... yeah, I'd love support for RAW files but I honestly don't see how you'd pull that off! Might investigate a program called dcraw and see if that is something that could be worked from. It is open source.
Pixlr is hands down the best online editor I've seen. I recommend it to everyone as often as possible. Thank you for making it!
I agree with Peterchen. More possibilities to adjust the text. Kerning, stretching etc.
a bezier/Pen tool that you can use make selections would be awesome
I have the pixlr add-on to edit any pic you see online by the power of a right click that has been working good until now. The link on the right click to edit the image is still there , but it doesn't work, I think it's disabled but not sure. Can you fix this?
-Some cool effects they have on http://www.picnik.com maybe?
