Color replace tool

By request here is the release of our color replace tool. In the first release we focused on getting the tool out and see what response we get. We will add functionality and tweak the algorithms going forward.

The tool works in the way that you select a color in the main color pad (bottom of the toolbox).

Then you start drawing on the color you want to replace, the tool use the center of the brush as a reference for the replace color (i.e the entire brush don't have to cover the color).

A tip is to play around with the tolerance and also do the entire replace in one sweep.

Let us know how it works!

From Sweden with love - Ola

Awesome! Works really great and easy to use! I've made another type of color replacing filter for images using kuler. Check it out at http://last.instinct.se/graphics-and-effects/channel-colorizer-demo-application/554

Great feature, but it didn't work on my transparent PNG. Anybody else?

Nevertheless the Best only Photo Editor!

Would it be possible to call that via API? So you would mask / mark an area or color and also hand in a color to exchange with?

That'd be awesom. Even payed services would be interesting in that respect, scene7 has only long term contracts and is only interested in larger clients it seems. Having this via on demand would be wonderful!

You are SO good! I totally love pixlr! I'm just wondering, do you have plans to develope an app for iphones etc? I think that would be great and at least I would be ready to pay for it! Just like pixlr express or something :D

The color replace tool does not seem to work on shades(e.g. white, gray, black). I'm not 100% sure this is the case, but so this seems to be a recurring problem with everything I work on.

Otherwise, great tool. VERY useful.

I can't change the colour! If I change nothing its red, if I choose a new colour it doesn't do anything!

I can't make things white or black... this is quite obnoxious...

It works. This is great. I can now work anywhere without having to get and install photoshop. Thanks!

Is there a way to change colors to black and white, or change black/white to color? I do a lot of black and white flyers and buttons, and this WOULD be a great tool if it worked in that way. Works great for color to different color.
