The main focus of the pixlr-o-matic apps has always been, easy and playful. It's important that anyone can understand and use the application. With that mantra in mind we can't add lots of new features because then we kinda lose the wide user base and the simpleness of the app.
So to give you people that feel a bit constrained in the pixlr-o-matic app more power we created the new Pixlr Express (http://pixlr.com/express/). Here you both can user the general adjustments like crop, re-size, colors, contrast and red eye reduction as well as control the impact of an effect, border or overlay.

We really focued on the image and I'm extremely happy how the UI turned out, very scaled back but somewhat fun and very easy.
It might just be because Iv'e been coding and designing too many nights to get this product done, but really I feel like this is one of our best apps so far.. I'm very proud to make it public!
There are a bunch new things, like the new crop with simple constraints and straighten with it's easy but powerful grids.
And with just a click on the "More" button you get access to all the different content packs we have with tons of old and new effects, overlays and borders!
We will keep updating the content so come back often and check for new awesomeness!
As always when one creates a product from scratch there can be things that don't really work as it should or stuff that seems weird. If you find anything please let us know in the support area.
Ah and don't be greedy, let your friends know about the new app as well ;)
Be Safe - have fun! (http://pixlr.com/express/)

Almost perfect photo touching tool. Still need the tilt-shift effort!! :)
I find cropping to be buggy now. If I am cropping to a width, say, some extra pixels are added to the height.
Also I can't highlight the values in the values box. This might be a mac or firefox thing?
Is the old Pixlr Express still available somewhere? I use it a lot! Best of luck with ironing out the bugs.
I have the same problem with values not highlighting, using Windows.
I love the fact that you continue to update and improve things, but I actually prefer the simplicity of the old Pixlr Express. I often used it to show elderly and other less tech savvy people how to do basic edits without seeing all the options for artistic effects. I hope you will make the effects available a click away and keep the basics about sizing, etc. the only things visible at first. I can still use it but I think other beginners will find all the options overwhelming in Express. I hope you will consider simplifying the Express interface again. Thanks.
Hi - Great job and keep up the good work! Love it.
I frequently use the desktop version of Pixlr-o-matic, any plans to upgrade it w/ these same features?
Thx.
Site down?
I've been using pixlr for a while, today I discovered Pixlr-o-matic and loved it! Now I'm going to try pixlr express. Anyway, amazing apps!
We are having the same problem with the cropping not matching the dimensions we cropped to.. Just like this person said -

Try opening an image, then set the crop numbers to 208 x 100 px. It keeps saving the jpg to the wrong size: 213 x 101 px. Can you please try to make the numbers match? Thanks for an otherwise great app.
