Photography Pixlr X Tutorial

Get Incredible Photo Effects In Less Than 5 Minutes With Pixlr X

Pixlr X is the ultimate web tool for you to achieve quick and easy effects on your photos. Don’t believe me? Check out how I create my effects below, in less than 5 minutes.

In the above image, I’m showing you examples on the preset effects already provided in Pixlr X. All you have to do is upload your image and select your preferred effect of choice, then apply it on your photo. You can freely adjust the effects slider to determine how much of the photo effect you want applied on your uploaded image.

I love giving dark, slightly eerie effects to photos. It makes me feel like there’s a certain mystery to the photo’s story, even if I’m just using a normal image. Let me run you through the steps on how to achieve that desired photo effect – using this photo. Upload your image of choice, and let’s get started.

One: Select the “Effect” tab.

Two: For this mini-tutorial, I selected the “Dark” effect, and chose the “Fog” option.

Three: I adjusted the “Fog” slider to 60, but you can choose your own opacity level depending on your photo.

Four: Now your photo resembles something out of a post-apocalyptic era. It’s perfect. Or give it the photographer-woke-up-at-the-crack-of-dawn look. Always a good choice. Go ahead and add some text.

Five: This is optional, but you can add a sub-text to support your main text if you like.

Six: Adjust the curves and channels to suit your image if you need to.

You’re good to go. Here’s the finished result.

Seven: Don’t forget to save. For web use, I usually go with a JPEG of Medium quality. Choose your own adventure.
