Did you know that you can save your edited files to different folders on your computer or device? Once you choose your mode of saving files setting, click on the blue “Download” tab at the lower right corner of the rectangular pop-up.
Your file will download instantly into the designated folder you have set for your browser of choice. It’s basically a default folder, and it’s usually titled “Downloads”. However, if you’re still unable to locate your saved file, it’s pretty simple. There are some easy steps you can take to adjust the settings to suit your preferences.
Saving files has never been easier! Follow my mini guide on how to change the default download folder to one of your choice:
Click on Safari’s Preferences on the top left corner of your Mac’s system toolbar.
When the window pops up, select the General tab. By default, Safari will save all files to your Downloads folder. It’s pretty easy and straightforward from here on out… all you need to do is change your saving settings to a folder of your preference.
Click on the 3 dots that you see on your Chrome’s toolbar.
When the drop-down menu appears, select Settings.
When the page loads, scroll to the bottom and click on the Advanced tab.
You should see a list of settings, find Downloads and then decide on whether you want to (A) change the location to another folder, or (B) manually choose a folder to save to each time you download a file.
Identical to Chrome, click on the top right corner of your Firefox browser and select Preferences.
When the Settings page loads, make sure you’re on the General tab on the left sidebar. Once you click that, scroll to where the Files and Downloads are. It’s pretty self-explanatory from here on out. You can choose to save files to any folder (as per usual the default folder is Downloads). Or you can toggle the second option below “Always ask you where to save files” to manually select a folder of your choice.
