Is there special pricing for nonprofits or educators?

◄ Beam me back, Scotty!

Pixlr Editor is used by a lot of nonprofits — and especially educators. We get questions from time to time from educators and nonprofits asking if we offer discounted licenses or if we have built our software to comply with special policies that address privacy concerns. We hope this article helps answer those questions if you have them:

  • Pricing: We understand as an educator, it’s not easy to find a remote learning tool that doesn’t require complicated installation, but yet has complete tools and features. Pixlr for Education is offering FREE Pixlr for schools, educators and students alike. Please visit our Pixlr for Education page for more information on how you can apply for this program.
  • Ads: Pixlr for Education version of Pixlr is ad-free! Meaning for educators, your teaching session won’t be interrupted by any ads.
  • Privacy: We don’t track users or market to them or share user data with third parties. It’s simply an online tool for basic graphic design. It’s open to anyone who wants to use it. Learn more about our Pixlr for Education Program Children’s Privacy Policy here.
  • Chromebook: Pixlr X and E works on all PCs, Macs and Chromebooks, as long as you have a web browser.

Why use Pixlr Editor for teaching?

A lot of users and educators are using the FREE version of Pixlr X or E, but Pixlr for Education offers an ad-free experience for both versions and Pixlr works in virtually any browser (PC / Mac / ChromeBook); it doesn’t require any installation; and it doesn’t share images to third-party social networking services. Plus as an additional layer of security, we are COPPA and GDPR compliant.
